The Barangay Ginebra Kings are heating up at just the right time.

In a crucial 2025 PBA Philippine Cup matchup, Ginebra overwhelmed the TNT Tropang Giga, 102-88, on Sunday night to move one step closer to securing a coveted Top 4 finish heading into the playoffs.
Led by the ever-reliable Scottie Thompson, who flirted with a triple-double (12 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists), the Kings played with urgency and chemistry on both ends of the floor. Christian Standhardinger also stepped up big with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamie Malonzo added 16 markers, energizing the crowd with thunderous dunks and key defensive stops.
“We knew how important this game was. TNT is a tough team, but we stayed locked in and followed the game plan,” said Thompson post-game.
Ginebra’s offense flowed smoothly throughout the night, with crisp ball movement and balanced scoring. Their defense also limited TNT’s key gunners, holding them to just 39% shooting from the field.
TNT struggled to find rhythm without several key players, with only RR Pogoy and Calvin Oftana hitting double figures. Their lack of bench production and inability to contain Ginebra’s transition game became too much to overcome.
